Halifax County Chamber of Commerce

Halifax County residents will vote November 5, 2019 on one of the most important issues of our lifetime: whether to approve a 1% sales tax increase to support school construction projects in the county. The county has significant school construction needs – the most pressing need for a high school - and passing this referendum is vital to helping our community best serve our students.

The Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors unanimously approved a resolution supporting the levy of a general retail sales tax at a rate not to exceed one percent (1%) to provide revenue solely for capital projects for the construction or renovation of schools in Halifax County.
